Private Residence

The warmth of wood is enhanced by the brightness of the light that enters and pervades the rooms through large windows overlooking the lively, historic streets of one of Germany’s oldest and best-known cities.

Wood is undoubtedly the principal interpreter of warmth in this historic residence, characterising all the parquet flooring, but also forming the load-bearing structure of the grand staircase leading to the mezzanine, and covering part of the walls as well as the imposing fireplace, the visual focal point of the living area.

Wood is then combined with the transparency and colour of the glass panels of doors and windows, but also with the floral motifs of the artistic stained-glass ceilings. Finally, it is softened by the pairing with gleaming mirrors in the home’s sleeping quarters, amplifying and illuminating at the same time, visually reflecting all the warmth of the space and the pleasure of living in a home in the city centre.
